Pastor Jeff Houghton

Jeff Houghton, Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care and Counseling

Jeff was born on August 20, 1957 and Born Again on April of 1976.  Jeff is married to Teri Lynn (since July, 1980) and they have five children: Christi (22) Jenna (18) Joel (15 1/2) Jonathan (5) and Carissa (2).  Jeff and his family have been part of Spring Hills since 1993 when he became part of our ministry team while pursuing further seminary training at Ashland.  He came on staff  in 1996 when he accepted our call to be Associate Pastor for Counseling and Pastoral care.

Jeff earned his BS in Religion from Cumberland College in 1980, attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1980-1982, and earned his MA in Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1996. He has been the pastor at Big Laurel Missionary Baptist Church in Harlan County, Kentucky 1979-1980 and served as Interim Pastor at FBC Garrettsville, OH  in  1980.  He was Church Planter/Pastor of Carnation City Baptist Church in Alliance, OH from 1982 to 1989.  From 1989 to 1992, he served in First Baptist Church of Ontario, OH.  He has served as Chaplain at LPN Healthcare Facility, Newark, OH 1993-1996.

When not busy with church duties, he likes to spend his time fishing, whitewater rafting/kayaking, camping and being a husband and Dad!
