Jesus
told the people in the temple area that; “My
house will be called a house of prayer”.
Isaiah 56:7 “these I will bring to my
holy mountain and give them joy in my house of
prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar; for my house
will be called a house of prayer for all
nations.”
If
we desire God’s presence in our lives, if we
desire God’s presence in our worship
services then we must be people of prayer and
our church must be a house of prayer. After
Jesus cleansed the temple, he began healing
the blind and the lame in the temple
courtyard. Children began shouting praises to
God in the temple area. If our church is to be
a place of life, healing, joy and praise it
must be a house of prayer.
Several
years ago we began a new prayer ministry for
our church family and our church ministries
called, The Spring Hills Prayer Force. There
are great forces at work around us in our
world, in Licking County and in Granville –
forces that bring deception, perversion,
despair and death. We came to
realize that to overcome these forces around
us we needed to pray for the spiritual forces
of God to be released in Granville and in
Licking County and in the nations. We now have
over two hundred people who have committed
themselves to prayer each day for the needs in
our church family and in our county and in the
world. We are seeing people’s
lives changed, ministries becoming more
fruitful and sickness healed. Praise God for
His presence and for the power He has to touch
and transform lives.
